A simple minimalist glass and steel box enclosing a stairwell to the building’s planned retail concourse below.
Situated on the edge of the elevated plaza the enclosure was designed to fit neatly over an existing egress stair well, while the inviting style and materials are employed to offer an elegant contrast to the building’s formidable presence. Minimizing the extent of work to the existing plaza was key. Aside from some new planting enclosure all existing bollards and lamp posts remain.
