A cost conscious upgrade of the terrace level elevator lobbies and the public corridors at an iconic modern suburban office complex. The main corridor which connects the elevator lobbies provides access to the building cafeteria (behind the red wall) which is midway along its 400 foot length. Primarily a cosmetic solution involving a striking monochromatic color scheme in combination with minimal ceiling drops, pilasters and accent lighting that together modulates and enlivens these extraordinarily long spaces. This cost effective approach required stripping the existing concrete columns to their original exposed aggregate state, skim coating away the pebbled finish that existed on the walls directly behind the columns plus a fresh coat of paint and modular carpet throughout. Mostly all of the existing acoustical tile and 2×2 recessed LED Lights remained.
